About the Role: Summer Intern - Data Governance (Remote) We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Data Governance team. As a Data Governance intern, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our data. You'll play a critical role in helping us drive business decisions, leveraging data to inform our strategies and optimize our operations. Key Responsibilities: Data Quality Management: Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data throughout its lifecycle, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance data quality. Data Security and Compliance: Implementing measures to protect data from unauthorized access, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as data privacy laws and industry standards. Data Stewardship: Overseeing the proper management and use of data, including defining data policies and standards, and ensuring that data is handled in accordance with these policies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with various departments to align data governance initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring that data is used effectively to drive business decisions. Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly reviewing data governance practices and reporting on their effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize our data governance framework. Requirements and Qualifications: To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should: Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university, or have graduated within one year of the start date (June 2025). Be majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a strong foundation in data analysis and management. Have experience with data analysis, including data visualization, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques. Have knowledge of data governance principles, data management, and related practices, including data quality, security, and compliance. Be familiar with data privacy regulations and compliance standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with data governance tools and technologies, such as data catalogs, data lineage, and data quality software. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
