Job Summary FedEx Supply Chain has an immediate opening for a Field Analyst with our Damage Research Group. The position will report to the Damage Research Operations Manager. As a Field Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting packaging inspections, root cause analyses, and inventory compliance audits throughout the United States. This position can be a home-based position located in any major metropolitan area. Key Responsibilities Perform product and packaging inspections, root cause analysis, and other continuous improvement projects in customer and other third-party warehouses. Perform work with full autonomy and delegate work to lower-level analysts when necessary. Communicate field audit findings and recommendations to customers, teammates, and account managers through consistent data collection and reporting. Lead closing meetings with warehouse personnel upon completion of field audit work. Maintain positive customer relations at all facilities/sites visited. Recognize damage, determine root cause(s), and make recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities. Book and coordinate travel with other analysts in a timely and responsible manner. Train and support new field analysts in all aspects of field audit work. Requirements We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in logistics, supply chain, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred and 6-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and 8 years of relevant experience. Experience in warehousing, distribution, or logistics environment. Previous inventory experience a plus. Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, or other continuous improvement methodology experience preferred. Customer service driven. Analytically minded with strong problem-solving aptitude. Flexibility to travel on short notice. Ability to be away from home for up to seven days at a time. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint). Physical and Cognitive Requirements This position requires 100% travel. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to kneel, bend, reach, and lift 25 pounds continuously. Ability to work in near freezer temperatures for long periods of time and sub-zero temperatures intermittently. Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
