About the Role and Team The Enterprise Technology team at Disney is responsible for delivering technology solutions that align with business strategies, enabling enterprise efficiency, and promoting cross-company collaborative innovation. Within this team, the Business Network Design Services (BNDS) group plays a critical role in designing and implementing network infrastructure to support business units, including LAN, MAN, WAN, internet, Wi-Fi, and voice network services. As a Network Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about delivering world-class network solutions that meet the evolving needs of Disney's business units. Key Responsibilities Provide network design and consulting services to business units and peer groups, developing network design plans and driving implementation of network solutions. Collaborate with senior engineers and leadership to serve as an interface between Enterprise Tech and the Business Units, building relationships and understanding technical strategies and requirements. Analyze and propose solutions, presenting them to senior resources and management, and preparing technical designs that leverage Disney's architecture and design standards. Implement network solutions, utilizing BNDS standards, and preparing documentation to execute on design plans, including managing escalation to BNDS leadership as needed. Evaluate innovative technology solutions, providing practical and business-unit-oriented perspectives to the selection of new technologies and adoption of processes. Essential Qualifications and Skills 3+ years of experience in an enterprise environment, operating 7x24 services to multiple business units, with a progression of responsibilities spanning network operations, implementation, design, and architecture. Working knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN topologies and platforms, routing protocols, current data center architectures, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, multicast, VRF, QoS, and more. Basic or intermediate programming skills in Python or other contemporary toolset/language. Strong understanding of routing protocols, including RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, RMTP, BGP, and telecommunication connectivity, including MPLS, Private Line, Metro Ethernet, Site-to-Site VPN, and internet. Proven technical expertise in the interfacing of network devices and services in a multi-platform computer and network environment (Wireless, VoIP, Video conferencing, etc.). Preferred Qualifications Media/Entertainment/Video Distribution/Broadcast industry experience is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and manage complex projects, developing project plans/schedules, and delivering products or services in a timely and cost-effective manner. Data center and/or cloud network design experience is beneficial. Experience with multiple vendor switching, routing, and security products (i.e., not just Cisco). Possesses effective communication skills, resulting in the ability to produce clear, concise, and consumable verbal and written communications/depictions. Compensation and Benefits The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $107,400 to $143,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
