Job Overview We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on the development and management of Linux infrastructure for our animation studios. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure to deliver systems and services with high availability and reliability. Engineer the design and implementation of Render Ranch, Storage, and job scheduling software. Perform cross-functional troubleshooting of complex issues. Demonstrate ownership for the projects delivered by your team and division. Coach, learn, and adapt to a highly dynamic and fast-moving environment. Collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into clear technical implementations. Identify potential improvements or enhancements to our services. Manage multiple projects, prioritize, and focus on work. Document engineering solutions to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Perform special projects, additional duties, or responsibilities as requested by management or assigned. Essential Qualifications BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant work experience. Programming experience, with a strong focus on Linux. Expertise in the design and management of tools and services dedicated to Linux desktop, storage, and render farm operations. Strong analytical skills and ability to work with a technical team to develop requirements and strategies to support the Linux system. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python. Understanding of Linux kernel and/or system-level design and native C APIs. Experience with QT C++ APIs. Solid knowledge of network-attached storage and access protocols, such as NFS or SMB. Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and a strong team ethic with both technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience with both relational and non-relational database technologies, such as MongoDB, ELK, and Postgres. Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or others. Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes. Knowledge of media and entertainment workflows. Basic understanding of network routing, switching, and network security principles.
