About the position Responsibilities • Receive pre-recorded audio notes from physicians. • Review audio recordings for content accuracy. • Transcribe recordings into type-written format using word processing equipment. • Transcribe various medical reports including patient histories and physical examinations. • Review transcribed documents for accuracy and submit them to medical records. • Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into expanded forms for clarity. • Transcribe a minimum of 100 documents per week. • Complete work regularly and on time. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Must be able to operate word processing and transcription equipment. • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is required. • Understanding of medico-legal implications related to patient record transcription. • Ability to type quickly and accurately. • Excellent knowledge of English language rules. • Ability to translate oral information into well-organized, accurately typed statements. • Excellent proofreading skills. • Strong listening skills, including the ability to understand dialects and various accents. • Ability to maintain a schedule and work well under minimal supervision.
