Americas Society/Council of the Americas seeks a summer graduate intern in Washington, DC to conduct policy research and support programs focused on Latin America. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Assist in conducting research and note-taking on private and public policy meetings and programs on Latin America. • Attend outside virtual and in-person events on international business and foreign policy on behalf of the Council of the Americas. • Generate reports and queries and facilitate maintenance of organization databases. • Support the coordination of meetings and programs. • Write briefing papers on relevant topics for programs. • Assist with outreach for public and private programs and provide logistical support. About You The company is looking for: • At least one semester of graduate school completed. • Excellent English writing skills. • Strong written and spoken Spanish; Portuguese a plus. • Exceptional research skills. • Facility with databases. • Detail-oriented with the ability to work on a variety of projects and prioritize. • Curiosity and eagerness to contribute to a dynamic team environment. • Strong interest and background in Latin America through professional experience or study. • Ability to work in-person at least two full days per week. • Flexibility to cover programs that take place early morning or evening is a plus. • Must be able to receive university credit for the internship. Compensation & Benefits • Hybrid work schedule: three days in office, two days remote. • All staff and visitors required to be vaccinated. • 15–20 hours per week with a minimum three-month commitment.
