Opportunity Overview We are actively recruiting a committed Special Education Teacher to serve students in the Dover region through our comprehensive virtual education program. This remote position combines the fulfilling aspects of special education with modern technology to create personalized learning experiences that meet each student’s unique needs. Position Parameters: • Weekly Schedule: 35-37 hours • Student Caseload: 46-58 students • Target Grades: Elementary through high school (K-12) • Delivery Format: Virtual instruction and services • Disability Focus: Autism spectrum disorders, specific learning disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments Core Job Functions Program Development & Implementation • Develop comprehensive individualized education programs based on assessment data and team input • Provide specialized academic instruction through innovative virtual teaching methods • Create customized learning materials and resources appropriate for diverse learner needs • Implement positive behavior intervention plans and track progress toward behavioral goals Student Assessment & Evaluation • Conduct virtual assessments to determine present levels of academic and functional performance • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations for initial eligibility and re-evaluations • Document student progress through systematic data collection and analysis • Prepare detailed evaluation reports and recommendations for IEP teams Professional Collaboration • Lead virtual IEP meetings with parents, students, and educational professionals • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices • Coordinate with related service providers including therapists and counselors • Serve as student advocate in educational planning and decision-making processes Mandatory Qualifications Academic & Professional Credentials • Master’s degree in Special Education or related discipline • Valid New Hampshire special education teaching certification • Two or more years of school-based experience serving students with disabilities • Demonstrated knowledge of special education law, procedures, and best practices Technical Capabilities • Proficiency with virtual classroom platforms and educational technology tools • Experience creating and delivering online instruction and assessments • Reliable high-speed internet connection and professional home workspace • Ability to troubleshoot technology issues and support students during virtual sessions Essential Skills • Exceptional verbal and written communication for virtual interactions • Strong organizational and time management skills for independent work • Creative instructional design abilities for online learning environments • Dedication to equity, inclusion, and student-centered educational practices Remote Work Environment Our virtual special education program provides a comprehensive suite of tools and resources designed to support effective online instruction and service delivery.
