About the Role As the Director of Outbound Transportation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our logistics and supply chain operations across North America. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Transportation, you will be responsible for leading the Middle and Final Miles of Transportation functions, driving best-in-class operating practices, and leveraging innovative technologies to optimize performance and cost. Key Responsibilities Manage domestic outbound transportation operations, including full truckload, less than truckload, small parcel, ambient, and temperature-controlled shipments, with both dedicated and one-way solutions. Develop and deploy innovative solutions to ensure Starbucks consistently meets its service metrics to stores, focusing on on-time delivery and cost-to-serve efficiency. Foster strong relationships with 3rd party carriers and 3PLs, serving as a subject matter expert on product flow and driving end-to-end efficiencies. Lead performance and cost management by developing plans and implementing solutions that achieve operating targets. Model and act in accordance with Starbucks' guiding principles, mission, and values, promoting a culture of excellence and customer-centricity. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: 8-10 years of direct leadership experience in transportation operations management, transportation planning systems, or a related field, with a proven track record of handling dynamic and diverse product SKUs. Prior experience managing store delivery networks in large and complex operations, preferably in food and beverage manufacturing/distribution or restaurant businesses with high store counts and frequent delivery models. A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering. Expertise in transportation sourcing, procurement, and contract management. Experience managing third-party transportation providers. Strong analytical, leadership, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications. Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Food Safety Regulations, and compliance. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus: Final mile direct-to-consumer experience in the food/beverage industry. A proven ability to work independently and influence others, with a natural drive for results within a complex supply chain model.
