Introduction to Road Scholar Road Scholar, the nonprofit world leader in educational travel for older adults, is seeking a highly motivated and creative Communications and Content Intern to join our team for a remote fall internship. About the Internship As a Communications and Content Intern at Road Scholar, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience writing compelling content for blogs, emails, catalogs, and more. You'll collaborate with a creative team of writers and designers, learn how to shape a consistent brand voice, and build a portfolio of published work that includes both print and electronic materials. This 14-16 week internship runs during the fall semester, between September 2025 and December 2025, with some flexibility depending on your school schedule. The internship is remote, 20 hours/week with a flexible weekly schedule during business hours. Key Responsibilities Pitching and writing blog content that showcases Road Scholar's educational travel programs and experiences Assisting with copy for emails or print materials, such as catalogs and marketing collateral Supporting catalog production tasks like proofreading and copyediting to ensure high-quality content Participating in team brainstorms and editorial planning to contribute to the development of engaging content Collaborating with designers to match visuals and voice, and creating a consistent brand image Shadowing content meetings and creative sessions to gain insight into the content creation process What You'll Learn How to write in a clear, engaging, brand-aligned voice that resonates with Road Scholar's audience How to pitch, write, and revise blog content that meets the organization's high standards The basics of writing for email, print, and marketing collateral, including best practices and industry trends How creative teams collaborate in a real-world, remote workplace, and how to effectively communicate and work with team members Essential Qualifications To be considered for this internship, you should be a junior or senior at an accredited college or university or a recent graduate, majoring in marketing, writing, communications, or a related field. You should have strong writing skills and a keen editorial eye, with experience in AP style being a plus. You should be curious, organized, and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow in a professional setting. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits This internship offers a flat stipend of $3,840.00, paid at 50% halfway through the internship and the other 50% after successful completion of the internship.
