About the Enablement & Operations Team and Microsoft The Enablement & Operations team is the backbone of MCAPS, designing, building, and managing the levers that accelerate commercial growth. This includes compensation, business performance and insights, planning, skilling, tooling, and engineering. As a Director, Business Management, you will be an integral part of this team, leading a dynamic group of business and program managers responsible for the organizational rhythm of business, budgeting and financial planning, procurement, compliance, governance, and special projects. Key Responsibilities People Management Model, coach, and care for your team, embodying Microsoft's culture and values, defining team objectives, and enabling success across boundaries. Attract, retain, and grow talent, knowing each individual's capabilities and aspirations. Business Operations Lead the architecture, development, and execution of the rhythm of business, driving strategy initiatives and facilitating business review cadence. Execute business plans to ensure continuity of business at all times, including in adverse conditions, and strategize business continuity plans with Microsoft corporate Crisis Management and Business Continuity teams. Leverage knowledge of the business to drive the leader's and business's goals, setting practices for company strategy and advocating for business cases to leadership. Develop and manage budgets and forecasting plans in partnership with the leadership team and Finance. Maximizing/Extending the Leader Lead in conjunction with stakeholders and the leadership team on multiple workstreams, leveraging key partnerships to drive the agenda and ensuring follow-up. Build and cultivate relationships with leaders and executives, advising them on industry and company insights as a key partner. Serve as a proxy for the leader, creating alignment within partnerships and ensuring all voices are heard. Special Projects/Programs and Initiatives Drive cross-team projects on behalf of E&O and MCAPS, leading project/program management to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts. Lead strategic innovation and experimentation, creating clarity on ambiguous projects and developing plans for execution. Drive accountability for the team and organization in executing core business activities, reviewing performance and leveraging stakeholders to achieve results. Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) and 8+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles. OR equivalent experience. 3+ years of management experience (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change). Preferred qualifications include: Enthusiasm for initiating and implementing change. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate across diverse groups and levels within the organization. Established success in relationship management, fostering trust and confidence among stakeholders, and influencing decisions throughout the organization. Executive presence and proficiency in both written and verbal communication. Expertise in global program orchestration and execution, capable of delivering multiple projects in tandem. As part of a global team, you will collaborate with colleagues across various time zones with core hours aligned to Pacific Time. The typical base pay range for this role across the U. S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year, with a different range applicable to specific work locations, such as the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
